Political activities banned in DUET campus
The administration has banned all forms of politics inside the Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) campus located in Shimulia, Gazipur.
On Tuesday (September 3, 2024), this decision was taken in a coordination meeting chaired by the newly appointed Acting Vice-Chancellor of DUET Dr. Arefin Kawsar; The university officials including dean of all faculties, heads of departments, heads of offices, hall provosts, assistant provosts participated in the meeting.
The university administration confirmed the matter through a notice on Tuesday in the evening. The notice mentions that any evidence of political involvement within the university will be punished as per rules.
He said, this decision has been taken according to University Act 44(5).
